Danish Safari Folding Chairs by Mogens Koch for Interna, 1960s, Set of 6

Danish Safari Folding Chairs by Mogens Koch for Interna, 1960s, Set of 6

This set of 6 beech folding chairs was designed by Mogen’s Koch and produced by Interna. The seats and backs are stretched with canvas and armrests are made of leather. The beech holder for the six chairs is included. Mogens Koch designed the folding chair in 1932, reinterpreting the traditional folding stool archetype by pairing easy folding functionality with modern aesthetics. The chairs were not put into full production however before the 1960s. The chairs have been reupholstered with new linen on the seats and backrest and new leather armrests. They are in very good vintage condition with a patina that only age and use can give. The provenance of the piece was the estate of architect Axel Thygesen (1927-1976) and his wife Anne Lise Thygesen (1926-2016). W.52cm,dj.56,h.88,sh,42,
